Why “ONLY MAKING MONEY” Can Cost You.

Yesterday I was so excited to send you what I learned from Papa Freight….

In the Email titled “Steal 20 Years of Experience Here”(Read that if you have not already)….

lol I blew it and sent the email around 6pm instead of 9pm…

Hope you can forgive me. People make mistakes.

But I told you I would be back today for Round 2(Don’t get knocked out just yet).

Papa Freight showed me that those who “ONLY WANT TO MAKE MONEY” are selling their vans, out the game or almost out the game(lol more money for Cargo Van Insiders).

Here is why….

There is a episode on the Tv show The Office called “The Client” (S2E7)

Okay so I want You to picture this. The whole office is on edge.

Why El Cargo Boss(Me)? Let me tell the story and you’ll know…

Corporate sends down a million-dollar client(the kind you don’t want to lose).

Everybody’s acting like they’re about to take the SATs(I hated this test back in senior year in High school)

Jan shows up with her blazer pressed, her pitch deck laminated, her game face locked in tight(Mind you this is how they teach us to sell in the Corporate World).

Then Michael Scott decides to do something different. He took a Million Dollar client to Chili’s(I love me some $12 3 for me deals. IYKYK).

Pay attention! This is Not a Ruth Chris steakhouse. Chili’s. He orders the Awesome Blossom(Nice onion ring zesty sauce). He does famous impressions. He talks about movies.

Jan(Vice president of Sales)is sitting right there watching this man RELAX with a $1.2 million account in real time and there is nothing she can do about it.

Then something shifts. The client starts laughing.

BOOM 💥 They sign the deal! (1.2 million dollars secured)

WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED?

Jan sits in the parking lot afterward just staring at nothing.

Everything she was trained to believe about professionalism just got beaten by a guy who genuinely liked the person across the table.

Michael didn’t have a strategy but a skill. He just

Made The Man Feel Good.

And that won him the sale.

In my conversation with Papa Freight he said two skills you need to build a Profitable Cargo Van Business:

  1. Effective Salesmanship
  2. Effective Relationship Building

As you can see Michael Scott was good at both.

People tell me Daily on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram: “I can’t win loads”, “I can’t find loads”, “I can’t get good rates”.

Think through these questions:

  1. Have you Sold yourself effectively to where companies value your services?
  2. Are you just trying to make a quick buck or actually invest in your business by BUILDING LONG TERM BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS?

That’s why I invested months building THE UNFAIR ADVANTAGE( a system of relationships that will keep you loaded through any Market )

All you have to do is follow directions and sell them effectively.

The work is Done For You. Just follow the Blueprint.

Thanks,

Yesterday definitely didn’t go as planned... After playing basketball 🏀 in Tallahassee, every load I saw was going the opposite direction. Halo(my son) was calling my name. I can see his smile in my head. My wife needed my help. Or she would be cooked at her job the next morning. Should I Choose the Cheese(Money) or Family? Which one did you think I chose? OF COURSE MY FAMILY! I would do anything for them. So i deadheaded home…. Got home at 3am. No rest. I was Exhausted. Only for my Family....

WOOP WOOP! Red and Blue lights… Awwww Man El Cargo Boss got Pulled over today. Almost 3 years in this business, I only got pulled over 3 times. lol that’s one time a year. This Cop must of been bored. I’m on I-10 doing my usual 65 MPH. This dude said I passed the agricultural inspection. Today was a phone call type of day. El Cargo Boss Hotline was blowing up. I felt like a Mobile call center. I spoke to at least 10 different people... Two conversations stuck out to me the most. First with RWS Express (My cousin). By the way, that's a secret to surviving long drives. Have plenty of valuable conversations on the phone. Next thing you know. BOOM you are 10 minutes from delivery and made a easy 500 macaroonis. RWS Express shared a funny story about how a guy he is mentoring is...
